Visuospatial Dilemmas

One thing that I have begun to appreciate with this process is that I completely lack any sense of visuospatial awareness.

I’m constantly switching between thinking this house is smaller than I imagined and feeling like this project is way larger than any rational person would take on. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

With the pad graded the house’s footprint seemed quite large but as the forms go up for the foundation some of the inside spaces feel like they might be more cramped than we planned.

Sealed the Deal

This view is one of the main reasons why we bought this lot. Best of both worlds . Living in the suburbs of Dallas but also getting to feel a bit of space and country. We were ready to not have neighbors so close to us. This mornings view was beautiful as I snapped these photos from the back of our lot.

Now I know what Forms are

I love driving up to the lot and seeing workers. Especially multiple workers! Forms have been going in yesterday and today as we get ready for the foundation. It’s odd to see the house take shape. Trying to guess where rooms will go. The space does not feel right but I’ve heard all feel that way until the drywall is in.
